Insurance

Car insurance and life insurance guides, kept separate because they are priced and regulated differently. No marketplace quotes and no commission-earning rankings.

Educational content only. Not insurance advice.

Two insurance verticals are covered here, and they are kept apart on purpose. Car insurance and life insurance are priced by different mechanisms, regulated under different rules, and sold to people solving different problems. A single list mixing them serves nobody.

Each section below is built from federal agency data, state insurance regulator filings, and statute. No marketplace quotes, no trade group estimates, and no rankings from sites paid a commission when you request a quote.

Car insurance

Why premiums moved the way they did, which levers actually reduce a bill, and how the pricing works underneath. Built on Bureau of Labor Statistics price indexes and state insurance department filings.

Life insurance

How much coverage a household needs and for how long, the difference between term and permanent, and what changes after 50. Built on Social Security Administration mortality tables and annual statement filings collected by state regulators.

Why these sit apart

Car insurance is a product almost every driver is legally required to carry, repriced every six or twelve months, where shopping is the main lever available. Life insurance is optional, bought once for decades, and the buyer never learns whether they chose well because someone else finds out years later.

Those differences change what useful advice looks like. Guidance that fits one reads as noise to the other, which is why the two guides are written and sourced separately rather than blended into a general insurance page.
